Monkey D Luffy Before Timeskip and After Timeskip
Monkey D Luffy commonly known as Straw Hat Luffy or simply Straw Hat is the main protagonist of the series One Piece. He started his adventure to become the "King Of The Pirates" when he was just 17 years old. Since then he has earned a good reputation as one of the most powerful Pirate Captain and Emperor.
He is a fearless pirate and according to him being Pirate King means to have most freedom in the world.
Appearance:- He is young man of average height and has scar with two stitches in his left eye. He is mostly seen wearing a red shirt and blue pants.
He always keeps his signature Straw hat with him as it is one of the most precious thing for him which was given to him by Red Hair shanks.
During Summit War Of Marineford, he was severely wonded by Admiral akainu
leaving an X-shaped scar on his chest that can be seen just after timeskip.
Abilities:-
1) Strength: Due to harsh training methods used by his grandfather
Monkey D Garp for several years, Luffy attained incredible physical strength and resistance to other things. However, his strength seemed to be
weaker as compared to others in Sabaody Archaepaligo and Marineford.
During 2-year timeskip he trained with Silver Rayleigh which helped him gain extreme strength and also control on his all 3 haki which can be seen after return to Sabaody as he easily defeated one the pacifista in single punch.
Luffy has also awaked his devil fruit powers which he call Gears. By Far he has
5 types of gear which gives him different abilities and powers. However, the Gear also shows different side effects like he become tiny after using Gear 3 and by using Gear 4 he loses his haki for 10 minutes.
2) Devil fruit: When he was 7 years old, Luffy ate the Gomu Gomu no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit which gives his body the properties of rubber.
However During the Wano Country Arc, it was revealed that it is actually a Mythical Zoan-type Devil Fruit, the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika which make him the incarnation of Nika ( A playful SonGod known as JoyBoy who known for freeing slaves and bringing smiles).
3) Haki: Luffy is one of the few characters who can use all three types of haki.
He was trained by Silver Rayleigh to control his haki during
two year timeskip. Let's discuss the details about his haki abilities.
CONQUEROR'S HAKI (HAOSHOKU HAKI) :-
Conqueror's Haki is a very rare form of Haki whose users are said to have the qualities of a king It was hidden within him, until he used it unintentionally multiple times: Stopping Motobaro (Rosy Life Riders' bison),
then to stop Sandersonia (at Amazon Lily's arena) as well as knocking out multiple Kuja warriors, on Impel Down knocking out attacking wolves; and at Marineford, knocking out Galdino and an executioner, along with several elite Marines and New World pirates.
During the Raid on Onigashima, while fighting Kaidou, Luffy came to realize that he could infuse himself with Haoshoku Haki, doing so on his arms, legs and his body, which increases his attack power.
OBSERVATION HAKI (KENBUNSHOKU HAKI) :-
Observation Haki is a very common form of Haki that allows user to sense
presence and movement of others. Luffy was trained by Silver Rayleigh.
When one become incredibly skilled in using this haki he/she can even
unlock the potential to see the future.
Charlotte Katakuri was first seen using the future sight. Luffy also
learned this during his fight with Katakuri. However till date, only
Charolette Katakuri, Monkey D. Luffy, Kaido and Shanks are confirmed
users of the advance form of observation haki.
Armament Haki is a form of haki that uses user's spiritual power to
create an armor around their body that harden their skin. This haki is useful
in both defence and attacks. Those who uses this haki can also cause damage
to Logia-type devil fruit users.
Armament haki was first seen during Enies Loby Arc. Luffy learnt this haki
during timeskip and is often seen using this now.
